Welcome to the pam_ntlm

The pam_ntlm module allows you to create a "shadow" file from the sam database (created by pwdump) in windows NT/2000/2003 and then authenticate users with that file. The passwords will be hashed into the same format and can be used to authenticate users or whatever the user chooses.

We used this module to help us build a disaster recovery environment with out having to replicate the entire windows domain. We are able to offer basic services through Linux/PAM and provide seemles username/password authentication. Thus preventing users from having to remember things during a time of crisis.

News:

Aug 2, 2006: Initial upload. Needs lots of clean up I am sure, however this provides the basics of the software. Users can start tweaking and offering suggestions and I'll try to fix it.
